ABOUT OUR LEAGUE
FOLKESTONE SNOOKER LEAGUE
The Folkestone Snooker League was founded in 1992 with matches being played primarily on a Monday evening.
We are a friendly, yet competitive league and we cater for and welcome all players, irrespective of their abilities, special needs and gender. We have a very diverse makeup within the league, and we bring together players of all ages. We pride ourselves on our belief that the game is to be enjoyed by all.
We have a main league, team knockout matches, singles and doubles knockouts, a veteran (over 50’s) league and a ‘Masters’ knockout for the top 16 performing players of the winter season. We also run a smaller summer league.
Each year we hold a presentation evening, and we are normally honoured by the presence of a professional snooker player for these evenings. Players from the league can purchase a VIP ticket, allowing them to play the professional. Over the years we have welcomed such legends as Steve Davis, Jimmy White, John Parrott, Cliff Thorburn, Ken Doherty, Mark Williams, Shaun Murphy, Barry Hawkins, Dominic Dale, Reanne Evans and Stuart Bingham.
For our 2024 presentation evening we are delighted to be hosting Joe Johnson, Tony Knowles and special guest referee, Michaela Tabb. These nights are not to be missed.
Over the years we have tried to raise funds by various means to allow the continuation of the league, and also allow us to support our clubs where we can by purchasing snooker equipment for use in their clubs. We believe that it is only right, where we can, to help to put back into the clubs that allow us to play the game we all love.
Of course, none of this can be possible without our sponsors, and we must give a very special heartfelt thank you to all of them. We always welcome new sponsors as well as new clubs, teams or players when the opportunity arises.
